As the Accounts Payable Analyst at STAT, you’ll be working with the Financial Controller to manage vendor payables, corporate credit cards, employee expense reports, month-end reconciliation, internal procedure improvements, and analytical financial tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receive, process, verify and reconcile vendor invoices, expense reports, and credit cards.
  • Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports.
  • Check invoice approvals, including signatures, cost center and provide missing coding data to accounts payable documents.
  • Work collaboratively with department heads to arrange deadlines for submitting invoices.
  • Schedule and prepare payments to optimize cash flow while maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Prepare, enter and reconcile month-end accruals and adjust journal entries.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, Stripe and PayPal account[AB1] s in multiple currencies in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Evaluate current accounts payable policies and procedures and recommend and execute changes for improvement as needed.
  • Compare monthly expenditures to department budget and investigate areas of over-spending.
  • Analyze monthly variance reports to identify potential misstatements and provide cost control alternatives.
  • Maintain monthly financial reports.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • You have a diploma or degree in Accounting.
  • You have at least one year of directly-related work experience – this may include verifying and entering general ledger coding and reconciling accounting entries.
  • You have a demonstrated understanding of current federal and provincial tax regulations where applicable (i.e. goods and service tax, provincial sales tax, harmonized sales tax and non-resident tax).
  • You have working knowledge in foreign exchange.
  • You’re confident using Excel and you may even have experience with QuickBooks.
  • You’re a strong communicator, both written and verbal.
  • You’re very organized and don’t stress when juggling multiple tasks with competing priorities.
